The idea to start a creative studio came about during the global lockdown of 2020.

It was a time for me to reach out to people online through my art, and understand their varied stories. This soon become my ‘why’ to helping people communicate their journeys through visual language.

MY STORY

I served eight years at Voir Fashion (digital) Magazine – a joint venture with fashion stylist Jyoti Matoo.

Disappointed with the lack of opportunities and outlets within the industry in Leeds, we embarked upon building the brand from the ground upwards, to reach out to and serve fashion devotees, aspiring journalists and image-makers from across the city. Our mantra became “a contemporary, boutique publication for those daring to be different, and those unafraid to dream.”

Over the course of my tenure, I was responsible for driving the entire creative direction across digital platforms – forging a unique position amongst digital magazines by confidently drawing on a new genre of fashion and beauty, and communicating this to empower the reader.

Characterised by a provocative blend of high fashion editorials, celebrity journeys to success, and unique stories for brands including Selfridges, Dior and Flannels, the publication steadily grew across international territories, partly through a unique partnership with GoldKey Media to deliver the title across selective luxury international hotels, airport lounges and private members’ clubs.

I gained a wealth of commercial experience inspiring new conversations, by continually pushing the boundaries of visual expression through photography, illustration, graphic design, sound and motion. I felt that now was the time to bring the heart of this visual storytelling aesthetic to local brands and small businesses across lifestyle and travel sectors.

By employing the same creative processes: from ideation to execution and delivery, I look to tailor-make visual solutions that reflect your uniqueness, reinforce your brilliance and excite your target audience. I partner with exceptional creatives across video, illustration, and sound design where necessary – to deliver campaigns which drive emotional connections.

My passion for image-making continues a journey which started from behind a camera lens. Photography provided the challenge of communicating elegance and beauty with daring and difference, and it is from this traditional standpoint of fashion communication, that my visual storytelling begins.

I draw inspiration from a variety of sources: luxury branding, travel, magazine editorials, film posters, and mid-century design aesthetic. But it is people who fascinate me the most, I am inspired by what makes them tick. Some call me a people-ologist because of my ability to connect, so where possible, I try to reflect elements of personal journeys into the brand storytelling process.

In short, through Luke Walwyn Studio, I am dedicated to creating brand content and visual language that excites your audience, inspires conversation and engagement, and drives action.

If you're looking for something unique, and like what you've seen, let's talk.
